Our Story

Reflect Coffee was founded in April 2024 by Michael and Megan in San Diego after a Vipassana meditation retreat inspired a mindfulness-focused coffee concept. The name Reflect Coffee came to mind on April 24, 2024, the first day of a 10-day Vipassana meditation course, an experience that inspired what we believe: the power of the present moment, taking time to pause, and simply being. Our vision is to create a space where people can slow down, even if just for a quick coffee stop, and savor the simple pleasures of life.

Originally planned as a brick-and-mortar café, the concept evolved in October 2024 into a café on wheels, a way to bring the vision to life on a smaller scale while laying the foundation to grow. Reflect Coffee officially launched on January 2, 2026, at a Mobil Gas Station in University Heights, San Diego, California.

After studying business, working in the restaurant industry, and building a career in software engineering, Megan brings a mix of technical and financial planning, along with a passion for coffee and service to Reflect Coffee. Michael brings years of experience in data strategy and business leadership, along with hands-on problem-solving and a deep focus on operations, quality, and the thoughtful details that shape the guest experience. Together, they bring different strengths to a shared vision and are dedicated to growing Reflect Coffee into something truly special.

As Reflect Coffee continues to grow, so does our team. With an artistic background and an easygoing presence, Vianie brings creativity, dependability, and a natural willingness to jump in wherever she’s needed. She has quickly become a meaningful part of what we’re building, and we’re incredibly happy to have her here.
